Repositioning Manoeuvre for BPPV

The repositioning maneuver for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a treatment technique aimed at repositioning displaced calcium crystals (otoconia) in the inner ear. The most common maneuver used is the Epley maneuver (also known as canalith repositioning procedure), which involves a series of head and body movements to move the crystals out of the sensitive inner ear canal to a less sensitive location. This helps alleviate vertigo symptoms triggered by certain head movements. It’s typically performed under the guidance of a healthcare professional, such as an ENT specialist or physical therapist, and can provide significant relief for BPPV episodes.
